As we’ve discovered, the Olympics have been an absolute hunk fest of manly perfection, chiselled  jaws, muscles galore and generally one all round homoerotic tease! While most of us are happy to ogle the guys in private and keep any saucy thoughts to ourselves – and let’s fact it those swim guys have opened up a whole new avenue of eroticism – we’ve come across a fab website that celebrates these prime slabs of meat in all their glory.

Rather appropriately called Hot Olympians, it takes the art of drooling to exciting new heights by picking a daily Olympic stud and showing us exactly why they’re top totty.

We liked the site so much we decided to get in touch with its Chief Hot Olympian Scout to find out more about the hot jocks he likes to drool over…

What made you decide to set up Hot Olympians?
Have you seen these athletes?!  They're beautiful and their stories are fascinating.  I knew the world's media wouldn't be focusing too much on the male hottie-factor, so I decided to set up Hot Olympians to reveal all.

What's the response been like to the site?
Amazing.  I thought I'd have a handful of friends visit every day. Yesterday, 14,000 people from around the globe logged on to see our 'Hot Olympian of the Day'.  Sports Illustrated, an American sports magazine, featured the link on their weblog. Hot Olympians has been discussed in a New Zealand newspaper, a few porn sites, tons of weblogs, and straight-female-oriented chat rooms!

What is that turns you on about these sportsmen?
Their IQs.  Well, that and their bodies and incredible talent.  It's fascinating and inspiring, beyond the lust factor, to watch someone like Michael Phelps push his body to the limit by competing in 8 races.

In your opinion what's the best sport for ogle factor?
Swimming and diving for the extremely low swimsuit-to-body ratio.

And the worst?
Shooting.  They wear these stiff leather suits that show nothing but their heads.  I'm not into the leather fetish - give me nearly naked wet jocks any day of the week.

So, who's your favourite hunk of athlete?
So many to chose from!  But if I had to pick just one, I'd go with the US Men's Water Polo team, which Hot Olympians will feature a bit later in the games.  I have a fondness in my heart for water polo because during the Sydney Games in 2000, I had my first boy-on-boy kiss while the polo jocks battled it out on the TV across the room.  It was hot.

There are so many beautiful guys in the Olympics. What's your take on the fact that so few of them are 'out'?
Does it matter?  I'm sure some of these guys (and women) are out to their friends and family but just don't chose to make it known to the public.  If I want to watch out athletes, I'll follow the Gay Games.

Why do you think gay men make better sport 'watchers' than 'participants'?
I think gay men are like all men - able to go out there and kick butt like any other guy.  I think many more gay men are becoming involved in sports on all levels, watching and participating, and that's a good development.

The site got a mention in the New Zealand Herald,with a moan that you weren't including hot women. Is the attention going to sway the male totty count?
Not at all.  We're unabashedly 110% pro-drooling over hot MALE jocks and make no excuses for it.

When your not drooling over the Olympics, what's your day job?
I push bits of information around on the internet.

Are we likely to find any more of your cute creations in cyber space?
I'm always doing little projects like Hot Olympians, but am currently working on a gay fark - like site and another Hot Athlete / Guy of the day site.

Once the Olympics finish, what's next?
Hot Olympians will stick around, providing coverage from the Winter Games in  Torino and other future events. (Although with all the coats and ski jackets, I'll have to work harder to bring you some drool-worthy photos of these guys...but it's a challenge I'll embrace.) If I can make it to the next Gay Games, I'll go.
