There's more to Vin Diesel than bulging biceps, a sexy voice and a silly name. I mean, there's his washboard stomach, his muscular thighs, his gorgeous rear-end, his unique machismo, his cheeky smile, those piercing eyes, those bulges in all the right place. God, someone throw a bucket of cold water over me.
Seriously though, as the action hero du jour, Vin Diesel is sexier than Arnie, Sly and Bruce rolled into one and boy, does he have the pecs - you could spend hours dribbling over the muscual contours of his shaven, shaped to perfectopn torso!
He's dragged the he-man into the 20th century laughing along with the audience at the silliness of the movies that have made him famous. The man positively oozes cool, but Totty Watch gets the feeling underneath his beautiful furrowed brow there's a brain equally as fascinating as the brawn.
Name
Vin Diesel (real name Mark Vincent)
Vitals
Born on 18 July 1967 in New York
Famous For
The big man didn't find it easy convincing Hollywood that he had potential as anything other than being a bouncer at famous nightclubs in LA. Bruiser by night and scriptwriter by day. If the parts weren't going to come to him, then he'd simply write his own.
In 1994 he wrote, directed and starred in Multi-Facial [is it just me or is that a good title for a porn movie with plenty of pearl necklaces and money shots on the face. Ed?], which aired at the Cannes Film Festival. The film got him noticed by none other than Steven Spielberg who quickly cast him in Saving Private Ryan.
He also fought hard for the role of Riddick in Pitch Black, a sci-fi movie more concerned with characters than special effects that gained a cult following and favourable reviews.
But it was The Fast and the Furious that got Vin's guttural growl and perfect pecks firmly imprinted into our psyche. Paid a measly $700,000 by Hollywood standards, his pay packet rose to a healthy $12.5 million per movie after its phenomenal success. Money obviously went to his head because he turned down the sequel when the studio refused to pay him the $30 million he asked for.
This didn't seem to do him any harm, because the absurd but highly entertaining XXX followed soon after and made Vin a mega-star. He parodies James Bond, ups his cool stakes to the max and acquires some very fine tattoos all over his luscious bod. And what joy, he's sliding back into leather trousers for the sequel to Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick.
Worth Knowing
When Vin was only seven he and some mates broke into a theatre intent on vandalism. Instead of being carted down the local cop shop, they were handed a script and $20 dollars on the condition they come back every night after school and act out the script.
Vin has never met his real father and is very cagey about his ethnicity. When asked he will only describe himself as a US Citizen.
He has a production company called One Race.
Availability
The big question is: Does Vin like chicks or dicks? It's a hot subject on the internet. Stories of him being a stripper in a gay bar (unlikely) or that he uses words only gay people use (!!!) or that his body is too pumped up to be gay (?) is all rather dubious evidence of his sexuality. But his refusal to be drawn on the subject and the lack of a 'significant female other' anywhere to be seen does make you wonder.
