Why should the boys get all the thrills? This is the question that’s been bothering the members of SM Dykes for a while. The club scene is so varied, the fetish scene too, yet there is precious little for women who like to do SM with other women. Thankfully things are about to change with Purr, a new monthly play club.

Purr is all about friendliness and attitude-free fun. The gals take a safe, sane and sensual approach to SM and the dungeon is well-equipped with things to tie you up, things to strap someone to, things that look scary (in the best way possible) and things to delight and amaze. Fancy a go in the leather body bag? Feel free!

The venue also boasts a fully-equipped medical area with gyno benches, stethoscopes and other miscellaneous implements, plus a wide range of whips, canes, paddles, cuffs and collars for your pleasure – or pain. Cloakroom facilities are provided, as well as snacks and soft drinks. There is a strict fetish dress code (see the website for details) and a no camera policy.

Purr is the place to go if you want to learn more about the saucy world of BDSM or even what BDSM stands for. Morphia and Mistress Vamp, the organisers, themselves affiliated to SM Dykes group, explain: “Purrr welcomes newbies and experienced players alike or indeed women who just want to watch or socialise. There is no pressure on anyone to do anything, so it's an ideal event to just come and see what’s happening without having to take part. However, if you wish to learn new skills or try something new then there are experienced Dommes available to answer your questions and help you.”

Intimate, playful, naughty, welcoming, and intoxicating; a really well-organised  SM club for women (and FTM and intersex people who feel that they still have a link to the women's community) has been a long time coming. Purr looks set for success, but put your claws away, kitty, and play nicely.
