A lesbian estate agent has claimed she was sacked from a gay-friendly company because she was pregnant.
Corrina Slow told a Brighton tribunal that she was dismissed as the manager of the 2Let office in Hove after she told her boss she was 16 weeks pregnant.
2Let has previously sponsored Brighton Pride and claims to be Britain’s first gay and lesbian owned and run estate agent.
Slow accused her boss, Kevin Newman, of “failing to consider the possibility” that she might have a baby and is claiming unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination.
She became pregnant by artificial insemination in May but did not tell anyone because she had previously miscarried.
However, in August she arranged a meeting with her boss to tell him about the pregnancy, but was dismissed without explanation before it could take place.
Slow claims that Newham was told about her pregnancy by a former colleague, Michael Blando, before she was sacked.
Newman refutes the claims and says he was not aware of her pregnancy and that she was let go because of her poor performance
The case continues.
