Mladen Peric’s Colours of Pride celebrates life, love and diversity in a stylish and historic collection of photographs capturing the faces and spirit of Pride festivals from 1993 to the present.
The images portray the festivals’ vibrant atmosphere and are a gallery extravaganza, reflecting the full spectrum of this colourful celebration of life, and the diversity of the LGBT community participating in it.
Editors, critics and numerous members of the public have all endorsed the ‘feel-good’ quality of these images, maintaining equally that they are sexy, stylish, humorous, expressive and poignant.
“Few can look at Peric’s photographs without smiling or being ambushed by a warm, life-affirming feeling,” said Amanda Elliot, managing editor of Positive Nation.
“His images unequivocally declare that it is a good, healthy and joyful thing to be proud of your sexuality.”
“On another level, the book is an important historical document for future generations wanting to trace the development of the LGBT movement.”
The book has been sponsored by Compass, the gay financial advisers, which will ensure that Peric’s historic collection of images is published in time for the EuroPride festival.
“This book is a natural way of reflecting the principles and values behind our businesses. We believe that regardless of a person’s sexuality, gender, creed, colour or health status they should be treated with respect,” Chris Morgan, managing director of Compass said.
Mladen Peric said that he was “delighted” with the deal to publish his book.
"I am delighted that the Colours of Pride book is sponsored by Compass, an organisation that is highly respected—not just for their professionalism and success in business—but also for their humanity. Their financial and moral support has been crucial in finalising this exciting and historical project. I hope you will enjoy the book," Peric said.
Colours of Pride will be released in time for the EuroPride London 2006 with exhibition and book signing events at London City Hall to help raise funds for Positive Nation.
