Robert plays hunky Bhuddist Ben Bruckner in the US version of ‘Queer As Folk’. A professor of gay studies at Carnegie Mellon University, Ben is the perfect mate for Michael, played by Hal Spark.Totty at ten paces!

Famous ForRobert began acting in TV commercials at the age of ten and went on to a spot of soft-shoe routine with Bob Hope as part of Hope’s USO tour.
Robert graduated from the University of Pennsylvania before attending Georgetown Law School. A move to Los Angeles to work in the world’s largest law firm saw him unemployed some four months later. Changing his name to Gant, Robert got himself an agent and has been working ever since.
In 2002 he graced US TV screens as college professor, Ben Bruckner in Showtime’s “Queer as Folk.”
He has also appeared in “Popular”, “Friends”, “Caroline in the City”, “Veronica’s Closet” and “Ellen.”

Worth KnowingRobert wasn’t the butchest of boys…
“I was the kid in the neighbourhood who would choreograph routines for all the other kids to songs like "Boogie Fever." I had a whole routine worked out for "Car Wash."
Despite being a gym buff, Robert felt uncomfortable during his first QAF nude scene.
"For whatever my upbringing was, I think I felt odd around nudity. But the universe gave me this show, and, very quickly, that changed."
And as for appearing naked with co-star Hal Spark
"I think Hal has a hot little body. Yeah, I really do. Hal`s quite the athlete. He`s majorly into martial arts. The only thing I`ve had some guys say is that they wish he would shave the hair in the middle of his chest. But Hal feels that`s a very Michael thing, as a character choice."
Robert’s character in Queer As Folk has become a HIV positive role model among the shows fans.
AvailabilityRobert came out shortly after Season Two and is an outspoken and constant presence at gay rights and HIV/AIDS events.
