Neil Sexton

‘I Kissed A Girl’
Katy Perry

GaydarRadio Rating:

Pucker up and listen. Calling lipstick lesbians everywhere... this song is THE summer anthem. Cherry Chopsticks - check, hot woman singing about lezzing it up - check, backward Republican mother up in arms about homo lyrics - check. Katy Perry didn't dip her toe into the newcomers-to-music-industry-pool, she double back flipped from the highest diving board and make a splash so big, you could surf on it. So impressed by Katy Perry's ballsyness and att-i-t-ude (air clicks fingers) that even Madonna has told Katy that she will be her support act in America! This of course is not optional. She WILL be touring with Madonna.  I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It is our fave choon of the summer so far. Anyone that can shoe horn in "Cherry Chap stick" is mighty fine in our books.

Stuart Miles

‘Boyfriend’
Alphabeat

GaydarRadio Rating:

Those colourful Danish wags, Alphabeat, are back with yet another piece of pop brilliance. This is pure bubblegum pop and hits the spot on so many levels. Apparently this song is dedicated to purely warning other people off her man!  Check out the wawa radio mix it adds a bit of meat onto the bones and lets face it we all like that!

Simon Le Vans

  ‘Pjanoo'
Eric Prydz

GaydarRadio Rating:

I must confess that I wasn't initially enamoured of this tune but now I absolutely love it. Being an instrumental track it has already spawned quite a number of bootlegs including Freemasons' 'Watchin' and Donna Giles' 'And I'm Telling You'. All the top DJ around the world are still playing this blockbuster anthem and it deserves to be a big cross over hit.

Phil Marriott

'Shine On 2008'
Degrees Of Motion

GaydarRadio Rating:

I was never a huge fan of the original version of this that came out in 1994 with Biti on vocals (is anyone else thinking of Little Britain, or is it just me?). The vocals, production and overall joyous feel of the song was great in itself, it was just a style of soulful house that I didn't really get into. Thankfully, this modern, electronic update by 7th Heaven has made it more infectious and it doesn't sound out of place at all.
