A former winner of Mr Gay UK is due in court today charged with murder after human flesh was found in a cooking pot.
35-year old Anthony Morley from Doncaster is accused of killing Damian Oldfield [pictured].
Oldfield’s body was found at a house in Harehills, Leeds, with a chunk cut out of the right leg and human flesh "diced."
Morley was crowned Mr Gay UK in 1993 when he was 20.
At a pre trial hearing in August, he pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Oldfield between 22 April and 25 April this year.
Morley spoke only once to enter his not guilty plea during the 15 minute hearing.
A statement from West Yorkshire police in May said: "Police were called to Bexley Place in Harehills at 2.30am on Thursday, 24 April."
"On arrival officers discovered the body of a 33 year old man."
"A 35-year-old man has been charged with murder."
The police found 33 year old advertising executive Oldfield stabbed to death in a terraced house. There was also flesh on the kitchen work surface.
Tests proved it was human. A police source said: "It appears it was being prepared for cooking."
Mr Oldfield worked for gay magazine Bent. It is thought he knew Morley but they were not involved with each other.
The trial takes place at Leeds Crown Court.
